Year to year variations in photosynthesis

As an example of the year to year variability of the biosphere, compare the September-October-November images for 4 successive years. The SON of 1997 was a major ENSO warm episode and there was little rain over Indonesia and Australia. Compare the photosynthesis in that major ENSO warm episode year with other years. Images can be obtained for other seasons and variables from the SeaWiFS home page. These maps are "SeaWiFS CHL_BIOS."
